From the history of deportations. Kazakhstan. 1930−1935

The collection publishes documents on the deportations of the period of collectivization to the territory of Kazakhstan and within it, which were an integral part of the campaign to "eliminate the bai and kulak as a class." The decision-making process at the all-union and republican levels on the fate of the rural population and ways of their implementation are reflected. In addition to the decisions of the central and republican party and Soviet bodies, protocols of commissions of various levels of subordination, the collection includes the most important orders, reports and certificates of the OGPU, reports on the results of inspection trips of representatives of the Kazkraykom, the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the KASSR, reports from the command of the Red Army units on the suppression of the insurgent movement in Kazakhstan , reports and certificates on the situation of repressed citizens in the places of settlement. The documents of the collection tell about the formation of the “special settlement” regime and the working and living conditions of the special settlers.

The collection contains documents on forced resettlement in Kazakhstan in 1935–1939. Finns, Poles, Germans, Kurds, Armenians, Turks, Koreans, Iranians, referred to in the scientific literature as socio-ethnic and ethnic deportations. The reader will learn about how preparations were made for the reception of special settlers, their resettlement, and involvement in the economic life of the republic. The collection tells about the working and living conditions of special settlers, the problems that have arisen in the republic as a result of the settlement in the shortest possible time of a significant mass of people who differ in cultural and everyday traditions, confessional affiliation, and language. Documents characterizing the changes in the national policy of the leadership of the USSR, which led to Russification, are highlighted in an independent section.

The collection contains documents and memoirs about the forced resettlement to Kazakhstan in 1939–1945. Poles, Germans, Finns, Greeks, Italians, Kalmyks, Karachays, Chechens, Ingush, Balkars, Crimean Tatars, Turks, Kurds, Armenians. The publication contains both documents that legitimized the deportation campaigns of various groups of the population, as well as directives, reports, certificates, letters testifying to the work of the leadership of the Republic on the resettlement, labor and household arrangements of huge masses of people in a geographical, linguistic, confessional alien to them environment. The published information indicates that the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was won at the cost of the efforts of all the people of a vast country, including those whom the authorities undeservedly deprived of part of their civil rights, did not appreciate their military merits, and artificially placed them in worse working and living conditions. The documents reflect the invaluable experience of people of different nationalities in the ability to achieve mutual understanding at the cost of self-restraint, the experience of love, support, respect, the experience of preserving historical memory. The publication is supplemented by a detailed scientific reference apparatus, aimed at experts on the problem, source researchers and researchers of the history of the 20th century. The published archival documents will be of interest to all those who are interested in the history of Kazakhstan in the Soviet period.
