On June 27, the Days of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan were held in the in city of Taldykorgan of the Zhetysu region. A project organized by the Archive to became a tradition with the purpose of exchanging experience with colleagues from different regions. The event began in the “Til Saraiy” (Palace of Languages) of the city of Taldykorgan with the opening of a historical and documentary exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Archive of the President, which presents the history of the Archive from 1994 to the present. The partners of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in organizing the event were the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Zhetysu Region and the State Archive of the Zhetysu Region. A seminar was organized for managers and specialists of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation, the State Regional Archive and its branches. The head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation in the Zhetysu region K. Suleimenov and Deputy Director of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Shailazimov addressed the seminar participants with a welcoming speech.

The seminar began with the presentation by a senior specialist fr om the Service for the Preservation, accounting and digitization of archival funds of the Archive of the President M. Duisenbay, who presented a report on the use of innovative technologies in the preservation of archival documents. Chief specialist of the Archive Fund Formation Service of the Archive of the President Zh. Zeynelov spoke about interaction with institutions-sources of acquisition of the Archive and measures to improve the departmental storage of documents. Head of the Service for the organization of the use of documents B. Kasenov shared his experience of creating virtual archival exhibitions. The head of the department for the use of documents and scientific reference apparatus of the State Regional Archive, K. Kanapiyanova, spoke about the state and prospects for the development of the archival industry in Zhetysu Region. At the end of the seminar, an exchange of views took place, and the speakers answered questions from the audience. We thank our colleagues from the Zhetysu region for the warm welcome. The next professional meeting of archivists is scheduled for October this year. From October 1st to October 4th, the II International Congress of Archivists will be held in Almaty, wh ere workers from archival institutions of Kazakhstan, as well as from near and far abroad, will meet to discuss the role of heritage institutions in the sustainable development of the society.
