Today, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Film, Photo and Sound Archives in Modern Society: Current Development Directions" began in Dushanbe, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Central State Archive of Film, Photo and Phono Documents of the Republic of Tajikistan. The conference was attended by heads and representatives of archives from the CIS countries. The conference was organized by the Main Archival Administration under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Russian Federal Archival Agency and the All-Russian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Affairs. The Director of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mustafina expressed her congratulations on the anniversary to the colleagues from Tajikistan.

In her speech, she noted that the unique funds of the Central State Archive of Film, Photo and Phono Documents of the Republic of Tajikistan, covering the period from the 1920s to the present, are of great value for both researchers and ordinary citizens. The professional cooperation between Kazakhstani and Tajikistani archival specialists, which has increased in recent years, was also emphasized, which largely contributes to the expansion and strengthening of scientific and cultural ties between two countries. During the conference, the participants discussed the use of archival documents to popularize history and develop interstate cooperation, modern approaches to preserving audiovisual documents and their new formats. Colleagues from Tajikistan spoke in detail about the history, activities of their archives and unique documents stored in their funds.
