On May 17, 2024, a symposium dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the country's first Minister of Defense, Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov, was held at the Center for Military-Strategic Studies in Astana. A collection of documents entitled “Sagadat Kozhakhmetuly Nurmagambetov. Hero of the Soviet Union. People's hero. Statesman" was presented within the framework of the symposium. The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel-General R. Zhaksylykov and Chairman of the Central Council of the Republican Public Association "Veterans of the Armed Forces", People's Hero, Army General M. Altynbaev as well as President of JSC Center for Military-Strategic Research A. Ryspaev have given their speeches at the presentation.

Director of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mustafina emphasized importance of the event for the youth. The documents included into the collection and presented at the exhibition of the same name are stored in the funds of the Archive of the President, including in the personal fund of General S. Nurmagambetov. The published collection of documents consists of three parts. The first part presents documents about the official and professional activities of the hero, letters addressed to him by his comrades. The second part contains S. Nurmagambetov’s reports, memories, articles and interviews with him. And in the third part, publications, articles, works, dedicated to S.Nurmagambetov and memories about him.
