The Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Library of Jordan Signed a Memorandum

As part of the official visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan to Kazakhstan, which took place at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on August 26, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Library of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The document provides for the development of cooperation in the archival field and the promotion of documentary heritage.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Aliya Mustafina, Director of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Yarub Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The parties agreed to work together in key areas such as digitization, preservation, restoration, translation, and publication of archival materials. The agreement also envisages the organization of exhibitions, conducting scientific research, exchange of expertise between specialists, as well as the promotion of documentary heritage.

It should be noted that in 2022 Jordanian specialists took part in the International Congress of Archivists in Almaty, organized by the Archive of the President.

In April 2025, a delegation of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Director Aliya Mustafina, took part in an international conference in Amman organized by the National Library of Jordan. During the forum, the Head of the Archive delivered a presentation on “The Experience of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Educational Sphere: Partnerships, Projects, and Prospects”, where she spoke about hackathons, the Summer School of Young Archivists, cooperation with universities, and emphasized the importance of involving young people in preserving historical memory.

At that time, the Kazakhstani delegation also held working meetings with the leadership of the National Library of Jordan, the National Archives of Qatar, and the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center. The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including the digitization of archival collections, exchange of expertise, and implementation of joint projects.
