Since 2022, the competition "The History of My Family in Archival Documents" has been held annually with the support of the Almaty Department of Education in cooperation with the Republican Scientific Research Center "Daryn". As part of the competition, children learn the history of their country through the history of their family, and also develop an interest in searching for historical facts and studying family traditions. This year's competition was attended by students in grades 8–11 of general education institutions. The goal of the competition is the intellectual and personal development of students in general education schools, their mastery of methods and techniques of research work in the field of history, attracting young people to the study and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, documentary sources related to national history, native land and family.

A special commission assessed the works based on criteria such as the content of the research, the use of scientific methods, the use of archival documents, including family photographs. According to the results of the competition, first place was taken by a student of school No. 41 named after A. Karsakbaev Zhansaya Satkhanbay, second place - by a student of Lakeview school Andrey Ryabtsev, and third place was shared by a student of specialized lyceum No. 92 named after M. Gandhi Ayana Serikhan and a student of Lakeview school Andrey Chernikov. The winners and participants were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
