The Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the auspices of the International Council of Archives on October 19-21, 2022 in the city of Almaty will be organized the I International Congress of Archivists "To Open Society - Open Archive". Kazakhstan became the first of the CIS countries where will take place an event of the professional archival community with the support and participation of the leadership of the International Council of Archives. This organization is a part of the UNESCO structure, which unites archivists from 200 countries of the world. The purpose of the event is to create a permanent international dialogue for interaction of the professional community of history keepers, discussion and adoption of recommendations on topical issues of preserving historical, cultural, documentary heritage, generating innovative ideas for the development of archives, realization projects and replicating the best archival practices.

During the Congress thematic platforms (archival discourses) will be organized, revealing the role and significance of archival documents for society through culture, art, literature, science and education. Professional sessions are planned in the format of archival lectures with speeches by invited speakers, following which open discussions will take place. Experts and specialists from 14 countries of the EU, Asia and the CIS, and USA will take part in the. Forum languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Turkish, Chinese.
