On February 8, 2024, veteran of archive-keeping, candidate of historical sciences Elena Gribanova gave a lecture to the staff of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In her lecture “Historical realities and artistic literature,” she presented a special vision of historical events through the classic works of Francois Rabelais, Victor Hugo and children's writer Nikolai Nosov.

Interesting remarks, comparisons of texts, plots and characters presented by the lecturer call for a fresh look at these books. She emphasized that reading fiction does not just broaden one's horizons, it gives food for thought. The “civilization of idleness” is one of the results of the gadget craze. Gribanova concluded her speech with the words: “Read more books, including classic domestic and foreign artistic literature!”.
