The United Nations International Library
On March 8, delegation from the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the United Nations International Library in New York. The library is named after Dag Hammarskjöld, an outstanding Swedish statesman, UN Secretary-General in 1953-1961. The delegation got acquainted with the work of the library, exchanged views with librarians on the use of modern technologies in working with information: digitization, management of library collections, online user access, search engines, etc.
The experience of the UN Library is interesting in that it is closed to the general public, but at the same time, readers are provided with access to library collections through online resources. In addition, in many countries there are representative offices of the UN Library, through which you can obtain the necessary publications.
