DEAR COLLEAGUES! Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 19-21, 2022 in Almaty holds a Congress of archivists with international participation "Open Society – open Archive". The purpose of the event is to create a permanent international dialogue platform for interaction and constructive dialogue of the professional community, discussion and adoption of recommendations, decisions on topical issues of preservation of historical, cultural, documentary heritage, generation of innovative ideas for the development of archives, implementation of projects and replication of the best archival practices. The work of the Congress will be organized according to the following content: The first day is the General Session of the Congress "Peace and Harmony in documentary memory – the guarantor of constructive dialogue and a creative future". Within the framework of the General Session, various thematic platforms (archival discourses) will be organized, revealing the role and significance of archival documents for society through culture, art, literature, science and education. The Organizing Committee of the Congress will be created and the rules of its work will be adopted.

The second day – the Organizing Committee of the Congress, the composition and intentions of its work will be announced. Professional sessions have been organized in the format of archival lectures with speeches by invited key speakers, following which open discussions will take place. The third day – a communique of the Organizing Committee on the results of the Congress will be adopted and trends for further vision of the Congress development will be proposed. Domestic and foreign specialists, scientists, experts in documentation and archival science, employees of archival and scientific institutions, teachers and students of higher educational institutions are invited to participate in the Congress.
