The first hackathon "Archive Hack: Smart Archive" has started

Today, for the first time in our country, the hackathon "Archive Hack: Smart Archive" was launched, aimed at developing innovative technological solutions in the field of archival affairs. The hackathon was organized by the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with Satbayev University and Yandex Qazaqstan. A total of 165 participants were registered, of which there are 43 teams. 20 people are participating individually. University and college students, as well as high school students from Almaty will present projects to improve access to archival data, their digitization, protection and preservation.

The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of Satbayev University M. Begentayev, the director of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mustafina and the director of government relations at Yandex Qazaqstan S. Bizhanov. They wished good luck to the hackathon participants and noted the enthusiasm and activity of the youth. The organizers tasked the participants with developing solutions that would make access to historical materials and the archival heritage of Kazakhstan more convenient and interesting. The projects presented at today's competition will be an important step in the digital transformation of Kazakhstan's archives.
