For the first time - Hackaton «Archive Hack: Smart Archive»

The Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Satbayev University and Yandex Qazaqstan announce the hackathon "Archive Hack: Smart Archive"

 The Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Satbayev University and Yandex Qazaqstan for the first time will hold will hold the hackathon "Archive Hack: Smart Archive". Competition is aimed at developing innovative technological solutions in the field of archival affairs.

The event will be held on September 24-25 in Almaty in the format of team competitions and will become an important milestone in the digital transformation of archives in Kazakhstan. The winners of the hackathon will be selected by a jury, and awarded with educational grants from Satbayev University, as well as cash prizes from Yandex Qazaqstan.

 At the hackathon, teams of university and college students with IT and history specializations (and related areas), as well as 10-12 grade school students (Almaty) will compete in creating projects aimed at improving access to archival data, their digitization, protection and preservation. The hackathon organizers set the task for participants to develop solutions that will help make historical materials more accessible and interesting, and will facilitate public access to the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. Throughout the hackathon, the participants will receive support and mentoring from Yandex Qazaqstan experts.

Yandex Qazaqstan will provide the necessary resources and mentoring support for the successful implementation of projects."
