In Almaty, military servicemen honor the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Veteran of the Great Patriotic War (Second World War), “Halyq Kaharmany” (Order of “People's Hero”), First Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Nurmagambetov, by taking part in the ceremonial parade in front of the apartment complex where general used to live. With a solemn march, conscripts, cadets of military educational institutions and pupils of the republican military-patriotic movement "Zhas Sarbaz" (“Young Warrior”) honored the memory of the hero who stood at the origin of the creation of the armed forces of the Republic.

The event was organized by the public association "Officers’ Union". Sagadat Kozhakhmetuly Nurmagambetov is an example for the young generation of defenders of the Homeland. This year, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the hero, the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan prepared a collection of documents "Sagadat Kozhakhmetuly Nurmagambetov. Hero of the Soviet Union. People's hero. State figure". The documents included in the edition are from the personal documentary fund of S. Nurmagambetov, stored in the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
