Presentation of the Collection “Alashorda Case. 1920–1940: Documents and Materials”
On January 30, 2025, the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting with the descendants of citizens who were subjected to political repression in the early 20th century. During the event, they were presented with the newly published collection, “Alashorda Case. 1920–1940: Documents and Materials”, compiled and published under the guidance of the Archive. The event was opened by the Director of the Archive, A. Mustafina, who expressed gratitude to the guests for their participation. In her speech, she noted that scholars, historians, and archivists contributed to the compilation of the collection, and that its preparation took nearly two years.
G. Nurymbetova, Head of the Archive’s Center for the Study of the Materials of the Political Repression of the XX Century, emphasized that the collection aims to provide comprehensive information on the Alash Movement. She gave a detailed overview of each volume, explaining the topics covered. Additionally, she highlighted that the collection includes more than 3,000 previously unpublished documents and photographs related to the political repressions of the 20th century. The event was attended by members of the “Adilet” Historical and Educational Foundation, including historian and writer B. Koishybay, S. Kozhikova, the head of the Museum-House of Akhmet Baitursynuly R. Imahanbet, the head of the Museum of Victims of Political Repression M. Musabayev, as well as descendants of repressed citizens G. Kemengerova and S. Kelesova, along with Archive staff.
