On May 13, 2020, employees of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the International Round Table "Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945: Historical Memory and Challenges of the Present", initiated by the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan branch of the Moscow Humanitarian University. M.V. Lomonosov in Nur-Sultan. The event took place online. Among the invited speakers were both archivists and teachers from Kazakhstani and Russian universities.
The main areas of work of the round table: Kazakhstanis - participants of the Great Patriotic War, the role of women at the fronts, the formation of the defense-industrial complex of Kazakhstan in 1941-1945, adaptation practices of the evacuated population, etc.

The chief expert of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Chilikova made a presentation “Issues of the formation and operation of the defense-industrial complex of Kazakhstan in 1941-1945.”
Within the framework of the event, a number of publications were presented, published on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. This is the book by L. Akhmetova "Panfilovites: Our Pride, Our Glory", published in Almaty with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy. The main emphasis is placed on the first composition of the division, which left on August 18-19, 1941, in seven echelons from Almaty to the active army. Collection of documents and materials "Women of Kazakhstan and the Great Patriotic War" and "Women of Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War. Memoirs and Interviews ”, prepared by the Center for Ethnocultural, Historical and Anthropological Research of Karaganda, the director of which is Z. Saktaganova. The editions publish archival documents, maps, photographs. Among them are sources from the Archives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
