Thematic sessions of the forum

The II Congress of Archivists continues. Two thematic sections have begun their work. As part of the debate session "Overcoming the challenges of archiving in a changing climate", experts from Kazakhstan, Germany, India, China, Poland, Russia and the United States discussed the impact of climate change on archival activities, assessed the risks to archives on a global scale, and also considered preservation strategies such as digitization and the creation of digital backups.

As part of the round table “Heritage Institutions and the Formation of Historical Memory of Society,” employees of archives, museums, and libraries met to discuss international practices in the formation of historical memory, to analyze how heritage institutions help society to understand its past and learn lessons from history, forming a basis for the future.
